Just your average guy, eking out a modest existence in the Land of Cheese & Beer. I'm certified, grade A, 100% geek; I play video games, D&D, and like losing myself in a good comic book, sci-fi/fantasy novel, graphic novel, or manga. I also enjoy running (for leisure and self-improvement, not so much a competition thing. I'm too much of a slow-poke for that, heh) and hiking through the wilderness. My greatest joy, however, is studying martial arts; specifically Japanese kobudo (or traditional, "old-school" martial arts, not the modern competition versions like karate and tae-kwon-do). I've been a fan for as long as I can remember, but I've only found the right combination of timing, teacher, and the right art about a year and a half ago. To this end, my journal will typically contain ramblings in the vein of interesting tidbits concerning the martial arts that I come across, as well as my current goings-on. And of course, the obligatory venting, video game/geek speak, and "so here's how my week's" going kinda posts. Feel free to post any related comments, I'm always open to talking about this stuff (sometimes ad nauseum, I pretty much never get tired of it though :)
